GREENVILLE, N.C. - The University of Idaho women's golf team faced a different kind of challenge at the Greenville Regional Preview and found the Bermuda grass common in the Eastern United States to be a bit of a menace.
Kendall Gray had the highlight of the tournament with a hole-in-one. She used an eight-iron to ace the 140-yard hole.
"We can take many positives from this week," coach
Lisa Johnson said after the Vandals finished 14th. "We improved each round as a team and Amy and Michelle both turned in solid performances."
Hasenoehrl had the low tournament for the Vandals with a 235 and a tie for 36th with Kim finishing in a tie for 43rd at 237.
Sophie Hausmann, who battled illness throughout the event, was at 243 and tied for 67th with Gray 79th (247) and
Clara Moyano tied for 82nd (250).
The Vandals combined for a 54-hole total 961. Texas Christian won with an 895 and Augusta was second at 913 and Kansas State third at 914.
