"I'm extremely proud of the team in the way they handled all the weather issues," said coach
Lisa Johnson, after Tuesday's final round was delayed for more than two hours because of fog. "They came out and competed and performed well."
The Vandals combined for a 560 - just one stroke behind runner-up and host UNLV at 559. Baylor, ranked 30th, won the tournament with a 25-under 551. In fourth behind Idaho was No. 14 Texas - one of a dozen ranked teams in the 19-team field.
As for the Vandals, they felt at home on the Boulder Creek course.
"We feel like we can swing freely off the tee," Johnson said. "Our wedge play is one of our strengths and we were able to use them a lot.
"This is one of the best performances Idaho golf has had in years. This was a very competitive, deep field."
