CHENEY, Wash.—The Vandals earned their second win in as many nights on Friday. Idaho rolled into Reese Court and walked away with a 25-21, 25-16, 24-26, 25-19 win over Eastern Washington.

Idaho (9-15, 4-8 BSC) carried over its performance from Thursday's win over Idaho State. The Vandals had a chance at the sweep, after breaking a five-match losing streak last night. Sophomore Haylee Mathis recorded her first career triple double, totaling 10 kills, 15 assists and 19 digs. Junior Becca Mau led the team with 17 kills. Junior Torrin Crawford hit a team-best .500 (8-0-16).

"I am super proud of our team," head coach Debbie Buchanan said. "I thought our composure was really good tonight. We talked about being a team and every night we have had to rely on different people. Last night it was Sarah [Sharp] and Kaela [Straw]. Tonight it was Becca and Haylee."

Mathis' triple-double marks the first under Coach Buchanan. She totaled just three kills through the first two set. Entering the final set she had seven kills, 13 assists and 12 digs. Her 10th kill came late in the fourth set, giving Idaho a 20-16 lead.

"Honestly when I am playing I have no idea what my stats are," Mathis explained. "It feels great to be able to produce in three different aspects of the game. I could not do it without the team. Our passing was spot on. Megan [Ramseyer] was setting some great balls out there. Tonight was a group effort."

EWU (11-10, 6-6 BSC) battled from behind in the third set, using a 3-0 run to take a 9-7 lead. Mathis cut the Eagle lead to one at 12-11. Two quick points from EWU extended its lead back to three points at 15-12. Mau and DeVonne Ryter helped build a 3-0 run for the Vandals, tying the match at 17. EWU answered right back with three straight points to regain the lead, 20-17.   EWU held the lead late in the match when Idaho put together another 3-0 streak, tying the match at 24. Eastern Washington closed the set with the final two points to extend the match.

"This is the potential that we have talked about all season," Buchanan noted. "I think the girls are starting to feel it too. It is just a matter of keeping it going at this point. It is pretty exciting to watch. We are a young team and you want to see them have success."
