The University of Idaho Vandals are heading to Houston, TX for the Phil Hansel Invitational that will take place at The University of Houston.

"This is essentially the half way point for us in our season" Coach Mark Sowa said. "There are a number of great teams that we get to compete against and the meet has conditions similar to what we will see in February at the WAC Championships."

The meet will be a prelim-final meet that will take place over the course of Friday through Sunday with prelims in the morning and finals in the afternoon. 

The meet will kick off on Friday with the 500 freestyle followed by the 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, and concluding with 1 meter diving.

The Vandals are excited to get a taste of championship competition as they will be racing high caliber teams.

"It is a really excellent opportunity to practice our championship approach and evaluate where we are at from a training standpoint. It should be a lot of fun" Sowa said.

First event starts Friday at 10am.
