The Vandals, bowl eligible for the first time since 2009, return to the Kibbie Dome for the first time since Oct. 15. Saturday's game is Military Appreciation Day and Bring A Kid To The Game Day. All past and present members of the military - and their families, are admitted to the game without charge. THE RECORDS
Idaho is 6-4 overall and 4-2 in Sun Belt play, while South Alabama is 5-5 overall and 1-5 against league opponents. The Vandals are coming off of their second bye of the season. The Jaguars defeated Presbyterian, 31-7, at home last Saturday.
THE COACHES
PAUL PETRINO is in his fourth season at Idaho. While it is his first head coaching job, it is not Petrino's first stint at Idaho. His coaching career began at Carroll College (his alma mater, 1989). From Carroll, he went to Idaho where he coached running back, receivers and special teams from 1992-94. From Idaho it was on to Utah State (1995-97), Louisville (1998-99), Southern Mississippi (2000-02), Louisville (2003-06), Atlanta Falcons (2007), Arkansas (2008-09), Illinois (2010-11) and Arkansas (2012).
JOEY JONES is in his ninth season as head coach at South Alabama. He played football at and is a graduate of the University of Alabama. His coaching career started at Briarwood Christian High School. He had two more high school stops (Dora and Mountain Brook) before joining the collegiate ranks at Birmingham-Southern, where he was head coach for two seasons before taking the South Alabama job in 2008. He is 175-85 as a collegiate head coach.

This is just the third game in the series with South Alabama winning both previous games – 34-10 at Moscow in 2015 and 52-45 at home last year.
