University of Idaho sophomore running back Isaiah Saunders was chosen the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his 142-yard effort in the Vandals' 38-31 victory over South Alabama last Saturday. Saunders carried the ball 23 times and scored three touchdowns - all career highs, in helping Idaho earn the victory that guaranteed a bowl berth as it improved to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. Over the past three games, Saunders has averaged 105.7 rushing yards per game on an average of 20.7 carries per game. All three numbers - 142 yards, 23 carries and three rushing touchdowns, are highs for a Vandal this season.
