SURREY, England – Former Idaho forward Nahshon George has inked a professional contract, signing with the Surrey Scorchers of the British Basketball League.
 
George spent two seasons with the Vandals, improving his game throughout.  He started 16 games as a senior in 2015-16, posting the second best rebounding average on the team at 4.1 boards per game.  He also added 4.3 points per contest.
 
The Scorchers compete in the BBL, the top league in the United Kingdom.  The squad features a handful of former college players as well as some local and international talent.  The regular season gets started in less than one month, with the Scorchers taking on the London Lions on September 24.
 
George helped lead the Vandals to their best season in recent history.  Idaho won 20 games for the first time in more than two decades, advancing to the Big Sky Tournament semifinals.  The Vandals earned a bid to the College Basketball Invitational, their first postseason tournament since 2011-12.
