Petrino reviews UNLV, looks to Troy

Homecoming at Idaho this week

THE RECORDS
Idaho improved to 2-2 after its overtime victory at UNLV last weekend. Troy is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the Sun Belt Conference after beating New Mexico State 52-6 in the league opener for both teams last weekend.
THE COACHES
PAUL PETRINO is in his fourth season at Idaho. While it is his first head coaching job, it is not Petrino's first stint at Idaho. His coaching career began at Carroll College (his alma mater, 1989). From Carroll, he went to Idaho where he coached running back, receivers and special teams from 1992-94. From Idaho it was on to Utah State (1995-97), Louisville (1998-99), Southern Mississippi (2000-02), Louisville (2003-06), Atlanta Falcons (2007), Arkansas (2008-09), Illinois (2010-11) and Arkansas (2012).
NEAL BROWN is in his second season at Troy. He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he played receiver. He was an assistant at UMass, Sacred Heart, Delaware, Troy, Texas Tech and Kentucky before taking over as head coach for the Trojans.
SATURDAY'S GAME    
Saturday is Homecoming at the University of Idaho and marks the return of the Vandals to the Kibbie Dome for the first time since their season-opener on Sept. 1.
THE SERIES
This is just the fourth game between the Vandals and the Trojans. Troy leads the series, which first was played in 2004, 2-1. The Trojans won at home in 2004 and at Moscow in 2014. The Vandals won 19-16 last year at Troy after touching down in Alabama just five hours before kickoff.
TELEVISION
The game is on ESPN3 (click here to watch). Shawn Kenney is calling the play-by-play and Al Groh is providing the analysis.
2016 CAPTAINS
Captains will be announced weekly. DE Tueni Lupeamanu, QB Matt Linehan, OL Jordan Rose and K/P Austin Rehkow were the captains at UNLV.
VANDAL RADIO NETWORK
KXLY sports personality Dennis Patchin continues to call the play-by-play and former Vandal defensive end and Vandal Athletics Hall of Famer Ryan Phillips is providing the analysis for the second season in a row for the Vandal Radio Network.
