SEATTLE, Wash. – The Vandals are back at it as Idaho hits the road for the Washington Invitational. The women's 6k race will begin at 11 a.m., while the men's 8k competition will get underway at 11:45 a.m.
Several quality opponents will be on site on Saturday, including Pac-12 schools Washington, Washington State and Oregon. Seattle U., Grand Canyon, Colorado State and Eastern Washington will also be competing, as well as the Harvard women.
Idaho took last weekend off after competing at the Gonzaga Duals two weeks ago. The women dominated against the Bulldogs, taking second through sixth and earning the team victory, 20-41.
Kara Story was the top finisher, completing the 5k race in 17:39.3. The Vandals were also without veterans
Ally Ginther and
Sierra Speiker at Gonzaga, two of Idaho's top finishers in the season opener at home.
The men were competitive with Gonzaga in the dual meet, but fell, 23-32. Freshman
Grayson Ollar was Idaho's top finisher, completing the 8k course in 25:16.9. The Vandals have seen tremendous contributions from the underclassmen, with three sophomores and one freshman scoring in each meet.
