University of Idaho assistant coach
Eric Brown has been selected for the AFCA's 30 Under 30 Institute – a collaborative program with the NCAA to provide leadership development for the future leaders of college football.
"It's great honor to be selected to be a part of the AFCA 30 Under 30," said Brown, an original member of coach
Paul Petrino's staff. "It really says a lot about how far our football program has come in four years under coach Petrino and the players who I am able to work with every day.
"I am extremely proud of our hard work and I am excited that it is paying off. I consider this as much theirs as it is mine."
Petrino said Brown is a natural for the program.
"He's a very bright young football coach who is always trying to get better and trying to learn more," Petrino said. "Growing up as a coach's son, he has a great knowledge of the game and continues to work on improving that knowledge every day."
The seminar for the 30 Under 30 participants is during the AFCA National Convention at Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 8-11. It includes lectures on ethics, leadership, NCAA rules, financial management, hiring, and player safety.
"This will be a great day of learning for me," Brown said. "I will have the opportunity to meet other young coaches and workshop with them throughout the day."
