MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS

LEWISTON, Idaho –
The Idaho cross country teams took another step forward on Saturday, closing out the regular season at the Inland Empire Championships.
 
The women were dominant.  The Vandals finished with a perfect 15 points in head-to-head wins over Washington State, Boise State and Gonzaga, and defeated Seattle U., 19-42.
 
Once again, Andrea Condie was the individual winner, completing the 5k course in 17:14.6.  It is the third time in four races that Condie has been the individual winner.
 
Kara Story was Idaho's next best finisher, taking fifth overall and third among Division I athletes with a time of 17:36.7.  Maizy Brewer placed 7th at 17:43.3, while Malaina Thacker took eighth in 17:43.6.  Krista Story rounded out the scorers in ninth with a time of 17:46.0.
 
The men picked up one head-to-head win, defeating Seattle U., 18-44.  Fabian Cardenas was Idaho's top finisher, taking 17th overall on the 8k course with a time of 24:40.3.  Dwain Stucker was close behind in 18th, at 24:43.2.
 
Drew Schultz placed 31st overall in 24:59.2.  Skylar Ovnicek took 36th at 25:06.2, while William Godfrey closed out the scorers in 38th with a time of 25:10.1.
 
Idaho will take the weekend off heading into the Big Sky Championships on October 28 in Ogden, Utah.
