EUGENE, Ore. – Vandal hoops hit the road this weekend for an extra exhibition, taking on the Ducks of Oregon on Saturday to benefit the Red Cross.  The game didn't go Idaho's way, but together the Vandals and the Ducks helped raise $17,465 for the Red Cross to help bring relief to those affected by the wildfires in Oregon.

Idaho stayed close with Oregon through the first half, but the Ducks pulled away in the second to take the 81-57 win.

Victor Sanders, still working his way back from injury, finished with a team-high 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting in just 10 minutes of action.  Nate Sherwood also finished in double-figures, scoring 13 points and adding a game-high five boards.

Head coach Don Verlin worked with his lineup throughout the contest, incorporating some of his new players for significant minutes.  Geno West, who was last seen winning a state championship with Jefferson High School in Portland, played 13 minutes on the night and finished with three points to go along with a pair of assists.

The Vandals will take on Lewis-Clark State on Sunday, November 5 at 4 p.m. in Memorial Gym before kicking off the regular season on the road at Nevada on November 10.
