MOSCOW, Idaho – For the second straight year Idaho soccer has been recognized by the coaches' association, earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2016-17 academic year.
 
The squad posted a team GPA of 3.42 last academic year, joining five other Big Sky teams on the list.  In total, 833 teams across the NCAA were recognized.  To qualify, teams must post a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 during the previous academic year.
 
The Vandals enjoyed an exceptional season on the field last year as well, winning their second straight Big Sky Regular Season Championship while scoring the most goals in the league and conceding the fewest.  13 Vandals were recognized as Academic All-Big Sky, a program record.
