ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA: The Chanticleers are in their second of a two-year transition  from FCS to FBS. They will attain full football membership in the FBS and Sun Belt next season. Coastal Carolina has dropped its last nine games, five by eight points or fewer, including a 39-38 loss at Arkanas.

TO THE FINAL WHISTLE: All five of Idaho's Sun Belt games this season have been one-possession contests decided in the final minutes. The Vandals have suffered their three league losses by a combined 11 points. Idaho won its conference opener at South Alabama (Sept. 23) in double overtime. Against Louisiana (Oct. 7), a go-ahead touchdown pass was dropped with less than two minutes left in a 21-16 loss. A fumble in the red zone with 1:08 remaining cost the Vandals a chance to tie or take the lead in a 23-20 loss to Appalachian State (Oct. 14). A goal-line stand preserved Idaho's 31-23 win over ULM (Oct. 28). The Vandals scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter at Troy, but the Trojans held on for a 24-21 win (Nov. 2).

SENIOR DAY: Saturday will mark the final home game for 16 Idaho seniors. A win would give the group 11 victories in the Kibbie Dome over the last four years, matching the most wins in the Dome by any four-year class in Idaho's FBS era, starting with the class of 1999.The senior classes of 1999, 2010 and 2011 all won 11 games at the Kibbe Dome in their four seasons. The Vandals will honor the following student-athletes prior to the game: Arie Anderson, Zach Cable, Aikeem Coleman, Aaron Duckworth, Jordan Grabski, Kahshan Greene, Armond Hawkins, Leonard Hazewood, Josh Herman, Matt Linehan, Reuben Mwehla, Alfonso Onunwor, Jordan Rose, Jacon Sannon, Colton Thrasher and Will Schmidt.

CLOSING IN: Senior quarterback Matt Linehan has thrown for 10,772 yards in his career, No. 2 in school history. Linehan moved past John Friesz (10,697; 1986-89) last time out. He is 52 yards shy of Doug Nussmeier's school record. (10,824; 1990-93). Linehan's career yardage total also ranks No. 2 in Sun Belt history and No. 4 among active FBS quarterbacks.

ONE OF A KIND: Junior linebacker Kaden Elliss is establishing himself as one of the best two-way players in the country. Elliss, primarily a linebacker, has also lined up at full back and tight end on a handful of snaps in each of the last eight games. Against Missouri (Oct. 21), Elliss became the first player in the country to record a sack and a touchdown reception in the same game. He repeated the feat against ULM (Oct. 28). Elliss also plays on special teams and blocked an extra point against Appalachian State (Oct. 14).

COFFEY COMING THROUGH: Freshman kicker Cade Coffey has earned Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week honors twice and is establishing himself as one of the top kickers and punters in the conference. Coffey is 10-for-13 on field goal attempts this season. He is among the Sun Belt leaders in punt average (first; 45.4 yards), field goal percentage (third; .769) and field goals per game (fourth; 1.11). His punt average ranks No. 9 nationally.

SUN BELT LEADER: Senior running back Aaron Duckworth is the Sun Belt's leading rusher in total yards (803) and yards per game (89.2). The last Idaho running back to lead a conference in total rushing yards was Joel Thomas in 1996 (Big West).

HOT HAND: Senior wide receiver Alfonso Onunwor has caught at least one touchdown pass in five of the last seven games. Onunwor has led the Vandals in receptions and receiving yards each of the last four games. He ranks in the top five of the Sun Belt in receptions per game (second; 5.9), receiving yards per game (third; 79.4) and receiving touchdowns (fifth; 6).
