The University of Idaho women's golf team opened the spring season with a 3-2-1 victory over Iowa before an afternoon 5-1 loss to No. 26 Brigham Young in a match play event.

Sophie Hausmann was 1-0-1 during the Saturday competition with her victory a 1-up decision over BYU's Alex White before a tie with Iowa's Sophie Liu.

Earning decisions for the 66
th-ranked Vandals during their match with Iowa, were senior
Amy Hasenoehrl (5-4 over Jessica Ip), sophomore
Michelle Kim (4 and 3 over Morgan Kukla), and freshman
Clara Moyano (2 and 1 over Jessie Sindlinger). Also in that match, junior
Kendall Gray lost 3 and 2 to Shawn Rennegarbe and freshman
Laura Gerner lost 7 and 5 to Elisa Suarez. Freshman
Danika Palm, playing as an individual, lost 1 down to Anna Kim.

Against BYU, the matches came down to the final holes. In addition to Hausmann's win, Gerner lost 3 and 2 to Anna Kennedy; Gray lost 2 and 1 to Lauren Atkinson; Kim lost 2 and 1 to Rose Haung; Hasenoehrl lost 2 and 1 to Brooklyn Hocker, and Moyano lost 5 and 4 to Kendra Dalton. Palm, again playing as an individual, lost 4 and 3 to Aiko Leong.
