Vandals have another strong showing

HOUSTON - The University of Idaho is still second after the second day of the Western Athletic Conference meet.

"Today was a really good day," Coach Mark Sowa said. "Our divers were tremendous putting up 49 points all together in the one-meter, and our 500s was a strong start to the day. Our relay put a finishing touch on our day. Overall, we really like where things are but we still have a lot to do and a long way to go."

Idaho is second with 242 points - just 42 points behind second-day leader Northern Arizona.

On day two, the day started with the 500 freestyle where three Vandals advanced to the final. Leah Fisk made the top eight in the prelims with a time of 4:54.52, which is a new Idaho record, before coming back to finish sixth with a time of 4:56.41. Erica King and Sarah Hall made consolation final with King swimming a 4:59.61 and finishing in 11th, and Hall taking 13th with a 4:59.77.
