RESULTS
POCATELLO, Idaho – The indoor season is officially in the books as Idaho wrapped up competition at the 2017 Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Ben Doucette showed up and showed out on Saturday, winning the 60-meter hurdles. He qualified first on Friday, equaling his season-best performance of 8.04 seconds, but saved his best for last. Doucette went 7.96 seconds on Saturday, the only Big Sky athlete to break the eight-second mark this year and the first since 2015.
Rechelle Meade took home another third place finish, this time in the high jump. The freshman cleared 1.70 meters, getting on the podium for the second time at the Championships.
Adara Winder also earned a spot on the podium, taking third in the shot put at 14.57 meters, a season-best. The Vandals had two scorers in the women's triple jump, in
Faith Eruwa and
Karina Moreland. Eruwa leapt 11.81 meters, a season-best, to take sixth, while Moreland went 11.78 meters for seventh.
Dusan Jevtic picked up a fifth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.99 meters.
Arphaxad Carroll earned sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91 seconds. He also took second in the long jump on Friday.
Grayson Ollar picked up a point for the Vandals with his eighth place finish in the 3000-meters. Ollar completed the race in 8:36.31, beating Weber State's Luca Sinn by about half a second to score the point.
The outdoor season is right around the corner, with the first meet coming up on March 24.
