PORTLAND, Ore.--The Vandal women's tennis team captured its second win in as many days. Idaho swept Portland State, 4-0, in its Big Sky opener on Sunday.
Idaho (2-1, 1-0 BSC) opened the match with a pair of wins to take the doubles point.
Ana Batiri and
Maria Tavares got things going with a 6-2 win in No. 2 play. Freshmen
Jessica Brzozowska and
Shion Watabe clinched the point with a 6-2 win of their own on the No. 3 court.
It took just three singles matches to close out the Vikings. Sophomore
Marianna Petrei scored a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tracy Dong on the No. 1 court. Brzozowska earned a 6-3, 6-0 win in No. 3 play. Batiri cemented the win with a 6-1, 6-1 result on the No. 4 court.
The Vandals now prepare for a trip to Las Vegas. Idaho will play two matches in three days, beginning with UNLV on Feb. 10. Â
