MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is excited to announce the signing of Caleb Seely of Wilson High School in Portland, Ore.
Seely is an all-state athlete in both cross country and track & field. He has incredible range having placed in both the 1500 (fourth) and the 800 (sixth) at the state championships as a junior and finishing seventh at the state cross country championships this last fall as a senior.
Seely has personal bests of 1:54.80 in the 800m, 3:54.05 in the 1500m and 15:47 for 5k XC. He has incredible potential, he improved his 1500m best over 26 seconds from his sophomore to junior seasons. He will make an immediate impact in both cross country and on the track in the middle distance events for the Vandals.
Seely is an excellent student and plans to study computer science at the University of Idaho.
"Caleb is a talented student athlete and we are happy to have him join the Vandal family. On the track he has shown that he has good range and as he gets stronger he should only get better." -
Tim Cawley, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
