Stark, Condie move up the record books

Bryan Clay Results | Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Results

AZUSA, Calif. –
Idaho sent a split squad out to California this week, taking part in a pair of meets.
 
Nathan Stark posted the seventh fastest 3000-meter steeplechase time in program history on Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invitational Distance Carnival.  Stark became just the third athlete in the Big Sky this season to break nine minutes, finishing at 8:56.54.  Halie Raudenbush also set a PR in the women's event, finishing at 11:00.47 to move into the top-10 in the Big Sky.
 
Andrea Condie smashed her personal best in the 5k, moving into the top-5 in the Big Sky this season and posting the ninth fastest time in program history at 16:54.48.
 
The Pacific Coast Intercollegiate saw a number of quality performances from the Vandals.  The men tied with USC for fourth out of 24 teams with 45 points, trailing only Wyoming (78), North Dakota State (53) and Utah Valley (47.5).  The women took 12th with 18.5 points.
 
The Vandals went 1-2 in the men's 400-meter hurdles.  Mack Baxter equaled his best performance of the season at 52.82 seconds, while Zion Stuffle posted a season-best time of 52.84 seconds.  In the 400-meters, Kaizer Gillispie earned third with a time of 48.28 seconds.  Austin Beyer placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 56.22 meters (184-05).
 
Ben Doucette improved his standing in the Big Sky by running 14.42 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to take fifth.  Katelyn Peterson tied for sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.67 meters (5-0.75).  Zachary Short finished eighth in the shot put at 16.91 meters (55-0.75).
 
Meghan Palesch and Wednesday Walton finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles.  Palesh ran 1:04.16, while Walton went 1:04.68.  Two Vandals also scored in the triple jump, led by Reed Richardson in fourth at 10.84 meters (35-06.75).  Lauren Curlanis earned sixth with a throw of 10.35 meters (33-11.50).  The men also earned a pair of top finishes in the triple jump.  Kasin Pendergrass-Anderson equaled his season best of 14.63 meters (48-00.00) to finish third, while Jonny Magee set a new personal-best at 14.60 meters (47-11.00) to take fourth.
