CORVALLIS, Ore. – Records fell at the Oregon State High Performance over the weekend, led by freshman
Rechelle Meade breaking the Idaho school record in the long jump.
"The coaching staff is really excited that the team is coming together at the right time," said director of track and field/cross country
Tim Cawley. "We had 19 personal-bests across all the event groups. It was fun for many of the athletes to compete in front of their friends and family. The support at the meet was incredible."
Meade broke the nine-year old school record on her fourth attempt, leaping 6.09 meters (19-11.75). Alice Draser set the previous record of 6.04 meters (19-9.75) in 2008. The jump also moves Meade into second this season in the Big Sky Conference.
Andrea Condie and
Halie Raudenbush continue to climb the Idaho record books in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Both athletes ran personal-bests in the event, at 10:47.12 and 10:47.51 respectively. Each time would otherwise be the fifth fastest in the Big Sky this season.
Mack Baxter ran the fastest 400-meter hurdles time in the Big Sky this season at 51.98 seconds, tying the fourth best performance in program history. Baxter finished second in the event behind Jeshua Anderson, but both smashed the previous facility record of 53.02 seconds.
