CHENEY, Wash. – It's back to the road for Idaho track and field, this time making the short trip north for the 45
th annual Pelluer Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington.
Competition for the multi-events begins on Thursday and concludes on Friday. Individual events will all take place on Saturday, beginning in the field at 10 a.m. The Big Sky will be represented well, with host Eastern Washington and Montana taking part in the meet this weekend.
The Vandals have a number of athletes currently ranked in the top-5 in the Big Sky in their respective events.
Mack Baxter sits in first in the 400-meter hurdles, posting an adjusted time of 52.93 seconds at last weekend's Al Manuel Invitational in Missoula.
Rechelle Meade is the second-ranked athlete in the high jump, clearing 1.75 meters last weekend as well.
Kaizer Gillispie and
Austin Beyer sit in third in their respective competitions, the 400-meters and the javelin. Gillispie was exceptional at the Sam Adams Classic, posting a time of 47.83 seconds, while Beyer threw 58.08 meters at Montana. Teammate
Zion Stuffle is ranked fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Andrea Condie and
Nathan Stark are each ranked fourth in their respective steeplechase events, while freshman Kasin Pendergrass Anderson is ranked fifth in two events, the long jump and the triple jump.
Ben Doucette is also fifth, in the 110-meter hurdles.
