Vandal women's golf earns NCAA recognition for APR

The University of Idaho women's golf team earned an NCAA Public Recognition Award based on its most recent Academic Progress Rate.

The Vandal women, runners-up in the Big Sky post-season tournament after a playoff hole, continued to be a high achieving team in the classroom as well as on the golf course. This is the team's fifth such honor since its inception in 2008-09.

"I am very proud of this team's commitment to both academics and athletics," coach Lisa Johnson said. "The University of Idaho provides an amazing student-athlete experience with outstanding academic support within the department. Sue Steele, our Director of Academic Support Services, has played a key role in this."

The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I teams. Teams earn points for retention and eligibility.

The entire lineup earned all-conference recognition with Sophie Hausmann and Michelle Kim on the first team; Amy Hasenoehrl and Clara Moyano on the second team, and Kendall Gray an honorable mention choice.
