MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho soccer continues to bring in depth ahead of the 2017 season, adding Lane Community College transfer Jordyn Dion

"Jordyn is a great pick up for our roster this fall," said head coach Derek Pittman.  "She is an experienced midfielder that has a great motor defensively and tremendous passing skills on the attacking side. Her vision and use of space on the field helped her lead her team and the conference in assists last season. She is a dedicated player that loves to train and improve her game regularly, which is exactly the mentality we expect from our players every day. She will fit in very well with our style of play and championship culture here at Idaho."

Dion joins the Vandals after two successful years at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.  She led the squad with 13 assists last season, to go along with six goals, helping the Titans to an overall record of 13-4-3 and a second place finish in the NWAC South.  Dion earned a spot on the NWAC All-Conference team after leading the league in assists.  Academically Dion also shined, earning the NWAC Academic Excellence Award in 2016.

The Titans were also tremendous during Dion's first season in Eugene, posting an identical 13-4-3 record and earning the No. 1 seed in the NWAC Tournament.  Dion was solid as a freshman, scoring five goals and adding three assists for the NWAC Southern Region Champions.

Originally from South Lake Tahoe, California, Dion attended South Tahoe High School in Nevada.  She earned League Player of the Year honors in 2014, to go along with all-state and all-league first team honors.  Dion's high school career was exceptional, helping the squad to back-to-back Nevada State Championships and leading the way with 107 total points over her final two seasons.  Dion also helped STHS to the State Championship in 2011 as a freshman.
