MOSCOW, Idaho—The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its final regional rankings this week. The 2017 Big Sky champion Vandals were ranked 10th in the Mountain Region. 2017 Big Sky MVP,
Marianna Petrei was seeded 11th.
Idaho defeated Northern Arizona, 4-3, in the Big Sky Tournament to claim its third consecutive Big Sky crow. The Vandals advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, having won the Western Athletic Conference three years prior. Idaho finished with a 16-8 overall record, having its season come to a close against 2016 NCAA champion Stanford.
Petrei, a native of Udine, Italy, went 10-0 this season at No. 1 singles, capping off her second straight undefeated conference season. A unanimous MVP choice, she finished 22-3 overall, leading the Big Sky with a 19-1 record at the No. 1 position in the spring. She went 13 straight matches with a win, dropping just two sets in the process.

Lucia Badillos in doubles, playing exclusively at No. 1. The pair was Idaho's top team with a 16-5 record, finishing 14-4 in the spring. The duo was voted to the inaugural All-Conference doubles team, earning First Team honors. They closed the season ranked No. 10 in the ITA Mountain Region.
