LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Former Idaho men's basketball player Jeff Ledbetter continues to stay on the grind, competing with the San Antonio Spurs Summer League squad this offseason.
Ledbetter played in a pair of games during the Utah Summer League, averaging 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He improved, and saw more time on the court, averaging 6.4 points over five games in Las Vegas. In the end, Ledbetter finished his summer league campaign at 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, competing against some of the best young talent in the league.
Ledbetter and the Spurs advanced to the quarterfinals of the Las Vegas Summer League before falling to the Portland Trailblazers. The Blazers take on the Lakers for the championship tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Ledbetter averaged nearly 13 points and three rebounds per game during his senior campaign in 2010-11, helping the Vandals to an overall record of 18-14 and a spot in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. Since graduating, Ledbetter has spent time playing in Brazil and Mexico, and spent last season playing in the NBA G League (formerly known as the D League). Last season, he played 38 games with the Austin Spurs, averaging 9.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
