WGCA All-American Scholar

Women's Golf | 07/05/2017

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.—Four Idaho women's golfers were honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Wednesday. Kendall Gray, Clara Moyano, Amy Hasenoehrl and Michelle Kim each earned as All-American Scholars by the organization.

The four honors mark the most in school history, topping last season's mark of three.

"We are extremely proud of these four student-athletes for their outstanding commitments to both their academics and athletics," head coach Lisa Johnson commented. "The way they press themselves to achieve at high levels, in all areas of their lives, epitomizes the Vandal way."

The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today with a total of 952 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Gray, a Tacoma, Wash., native, earned All-Big Sky Honorable Mention in 2017. She tied for 11th at the Big Sky Championship. She recorded 68 in the first round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, her lowest round of the season. This marks her third WGCA honor of her career.

Moyano, a Madrid, Spain, native, had her best outing of the season at the Big Sky Championship. She shot a 221 (+5) over her three rounds to finish tied for second. Moyano, in her first year, was voted Second Team All-Big Sky, aided by four top-20 finishes on the season. This marks her first WGCA honor.

Hasenoehrl, a Lewiston, Idaho, native, wrapped up her career as a Vandal with a 17th-place finish at the Big Sky Championship. She was Second Team All-Conference and was Big Sky Golfer of the Week after her 213 (-3) finish at the WSU Cougar Cup. This marks her third WGCA honor.

Kim, a Surrey, B.C., native, was a First Team All-Big Sky selection in 2017. She had three top-10 finishes on the season. She posted a low of 69 in the final round of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, helping her tie for third. This marks her first WGCA honor.
