SPOKANE, Wash. – The second meet of the season is here for Idaho cross country, with the squad making the quick trip up to Spokane for the Gonzaga/Idaho Dual, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The women got the season started with an exceptional performance at the Clash of the Inland Northwest in Missoula two weeks ago.
Andrea Condie took first overall in the event, completing the 4k race with a time of 14:11.60, as the women defeated Montana, Eastern Washington and Gonzaga. Condie's performance caught the eye of the conference as well, earning her Big Sky Athlete of the Week honors.
The men were solid in the season-opening meet, defeating Montana and Eastern Washington but falling to Gonzaga.
Grayson Ollar returned to his normal ways, leading the squad with a time of 18:40.89.
Last season, the women dominated Gonzaga in Spokane, winning 20-41. The Bulldogs had the individual winner in Jordan Thurston, but the Vandals had the next five finishers to claim the victory. The men lost in a close battle, 23-32.
