ERIE, Colo.- Junior
Enrique Marin led Idaho men's golf in each of the first two rounds of the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational Monday, at the Colorado National Golf Club. Marin opened the tournament with a 3-under 69, before shooting even-par 72 in the afternoon. The junior has been Idaho's top performer each of the last six rounds.
Marin's 3-under 141 puts him in a tie for 13th individually. He birdied four of his first seven holes in the opening round. A bogey on the final hole was his only blemish. In round two, Marin posted four birdies and four bogeys for the even-par outing.
Hayden Ritter joined Marin in red numbers in the first round. Ritter shot a one-under 71. The Vandals' four counting scores in the first round were all within three strokes of par and put the team in ninth with a 1-over 289.
A second-round 296 dropped Idaho to a tie for 18th in the team standings. The Vandals remain five strokes outside the top 10
