CEDAR CITY, Utah – It's back on the road for Idaho men's basketball as the Vandals head out to take on Southern Utah at 5:30 p.m. Pacific on Thursday in Cedar City.

LAST TIME OUT: The Vandals made the quick trip up to Cheney to take on local rival Eastern Washington on Friday night as part of a doubleheader with the women.  The men got down early in their game, trailing 20-6 in the opening minutes, but bounced back behind an inspired defensive effort to take the 58-51 win.
 
The Vandals closed the gap late in the first half, trailing by just two at the break, and kept the pressure on into the beginning of the second.  The Idaho defense forced EWU into a number of turnovers in the opening minutes of the second, with the Eagles unable to get quality looks, as Idaho built its own lead that it would not relinquish.
 
BLAKE HITS THE GLASS: Brayon Blake has been the top rebounder in the conference nearly all season long, averaging a Big Sky-best 9.5 rebounds per game on the year.  In Big Sky play, Blake is averaging 9.4 rebounds per game, also the best in the league. 
 
NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS: Idaho finished the non-conference portion of the season at 8-4.  In Don Verlin's now 10 seasons with Idaho, the eight early-season wins are tied for the most.  The Vandals had eight early-season wins during the 2015-16 season, Idaho's best season (by wins and losses) since the early 1990's.
