OGDEN, Utah – Senior forward
Brayon Blake has been recognized as the Big Sky Conference Ready Nutrition Player of the Week.
Blake scored 23 points to go along with 12 rebounds in Idaho's win at Southern Utah on Thursday night. It was the third time this season that he scored at least 20 points, and it was his sixth double-double of the year. He connected on 9-of-16 field goal attempts, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
He followed that up with another great performance, finishing with 25 points and nine rebounds in Idaho's win over Northern Arizona. He shot 53 percent from the floor and went 3-of-4 at the free throw line in the final 20 seconds of the game to seal the win.
Blake has been exceptional for the Vandals this season, leading the Big Sky in rebounding and scoring nearly 15 points per game. A constant double-double threat, Blake has six double-doubles on the year. Blake was also named College Sports Madness Big Sky Men's Basketball Player of the Week this week, the second time he has been recognized by CSM.
The Vandals are at home this weekend, taking on Northern Colorado and North Dakota. Check back with GoVandals.com tomorrow for more on the upcoming matchups.
