ABOUT THE VANDALS: Numerous Vandals are at the top of the Big Sky standings heading into the championships, including Kasin Pendergrass-Anderson and Rechelle Meade, both leading the way in the men's and women's long jump.

Pendergrass-Anderson opened the season with a solid performance at the Vandal Invitational in the triple jump. His jump of 15.05 meters has him ranked third in the Big Sky. He followed that up with an outstanding performance in the long jump at the WSU Open, a jump that has him ranked first in the conference at 7.46 meters.

Meade started the season off strong with a school record breaking jump of 6.17 meters in the long jump. She soared past Angela Whyte's 15-year-old record of 6.08 meters, set in 2003. Meade is coming off an impressive freshman season in 2017, where she won Freshman of the Year at the Big Sky Indoor Conference Championships.

Sophomore, Ben Doucette, ran the 60-meter hurdles at the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships last weekend and is now looking to compete for a conference title in the event. Doucette ran a career-best 7.94 seconds at the Idaho Duals to rank second in the Big Sky. Zachary Short is ranked second in the shot put. He threw a career-best in the shot put at 18.01 meters. Short is one of only two athletes in the conference to break 18-meters this season.

Kaizer Gillispie is in the top of the Big Sky in both the 400-meters and the 200-meters. He ranks third in the 400-meters after running a season best time of 48.18 seconds at the UW Open. In the 200-meters, Gillispie ranks seventh with a time of 21.77 seconds.

With two individual wins in the triple jump this season, Karina Moreland goes into the championships ranked third in the Big Sky standings. Her best mark is 11.93 meters. Distance runners Kara Story and Andrea Condie both enter the championships ranked in the top-10 in the 3000-meters. Story is sitting in fifth with a time of 9:42.90, and Condie is ninth at 9:48.38.

Freshman, Maya McFadden, is set to compete in the women's pentathlon for the first time as a Vandal starting with the 60-meter hurdles Thursday at 12:15 p.m. MT.
