Idaho women's golf is set for the 2018 Big Sky Championships April 20-22, at Boulder Creek Golf Club near Las Vegas. The Vandals, the host institution for the neutral-site event, are vying for a second conference title in three years after losing last season's title in a playoff. Since returning to the Big Sky prior to the 2015 season, Idaho has finished first, second and third at the conference championship.

THE COURSE: The 2018 Big Sky Championships return to Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., just outside of Las Vegas. The club has played host to each of the last two Big Sky Championships. Boulder Creek Golf Club is comprised of three nine-hole courses. This year's tournament will be played on the Desert Hawk and Coyote Run courses. The tournament will be set up at 6,395 yards and will play as a par 72.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The tournament begins with a practice round Thursday, followed by three days of competition. Each day will consist of 18 holes. Tee times for the competition rounds are based on seeds, beginning at 7 a.m. each day. For updated tee times and pairings, visit

SCINTILLATING SOPHIE: Idaho junior
Sophie Hausmann prepares for her third appearance at the Big Sky Championships having won the individual title as a freshman before finishing second as a sophomore. Hausmann enters the tournament as the top-ranked individual in the conference. She is No. 113 in the latest Golfstat ranking and has seven wins against top-100 opponents throughout the season. Hausmann has posted six top-20 finishes this year, including each of her last three outings. Among them were two of her four top-10 showings this season.

Valeria Patino and Junior
Michelle Kim rank 10th and 11th in the conference, respectively, according to Golfstat. Kim, the 2016 Big Sky Freshman of the Year, posted top-40 finishes in each of her last two tournaments to close the regular season. Patino has five top-25 finishes in her debut campaign and is among the top candidates for 2018 Big Sky Freshman of the Year.
SWARM SCORING: Sacramento State enters the tournament as the top-ranked team in the conference. The defending-champion Hornets were picked to win the league in the preseason poll, just ahead of the Vandals. Sacramento State will rely on depth to bring home another trophy.
