Vandals make mark at McDonald's Last Chance Meet

MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho's athletes left several marks in the Vandals' record books at the first day of the McDonald's Last Chance meet held at UI's Kibbie Dome today.

Notable performances on the women's side included Shana Ball's first place finish in the discus with a mark of 167-0. Her throw set a new school record, breaking the previous one of 158-10 set on Feb. 19 by Katja Schreiber.

Jeannine Korus placed second in the 400m in 55.74, breaking her own school record of 55.98 .

"We are very excited about where we are right now as a team," stated UI Head Women's Coach Yogi Teevens. "In addition to the two school records, we had five other athletes hit personal bests tonight, and I think it's a great way to finish our indoor season."

Jeff High again was a top performer on the men's side, breaking his own school record in the weight throw with a first-place finish of 60-6. His previous best was 60-4 set on Feb. 18.

Other first place finishers for the men included Anders Moller in the triple jump, 51-0 and Errol Aguilera in the 60 meters, 6.96.

"Moller and High both had outstanding performances and I believe they still have more in them," said UI men's head coach Wayne Phipps. "We dominated the sprints and almost all our distance runners had personal bests. As a team we had 12 personal bests for the night."
