Four Vandals compete at Canadian Championships

TORONTO - Three former and one current University of Idaho track and field athlete competed at the Canadian Track & Field Championships last weekend and turned in a number of top performances.

Angela Whyte, a two-time Olympian and current volunteer assistant coach for Idaho, finished third in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.00, while 2010 graduate Christie Gordon took fourth in the same race with a 13.46.

Bevin Thompson (formerly Bevin Kennelly), a 2008 Idaho graduate, took third in the women's steeplechase with a time of 10:23.70.

Karlene Hurrel, who completed her freshman season at Idaho in 2010, took 12th in the women's 100m at 12.28 and 14th in the 200m with a time of 25.44.
