MOSCOW, Idaho - University of Idaho men's basketball head coach Don Verlin and his staff will host two camps this summer for players of all levels.
First, Idaho will host its annual high school team camp on Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19. This camp is a great opportunity for teams to play different schools from outside their state and region. The camp will offer multiple brackets, ranging from big school to junior varsity and freshman, to allow the most effective matchups.
In addition to the competitive side, the camp also offers daily skill and team development clinics and nightly coaches clinics and socials. The camp is also run simultaneously alongside the Dave Hall Western Athletic Conference Officiating Clinic, which means that every game will be officiated by certified three-man crews.
The team camp costs $245 per camper, which includes three days and two nights lodging and meals on campus in the residence halls at the University of Idaho.
Idaho Basketball's 2011 youth camp runs from Monday, June 20, through Thursday, June 23 and is open to boys, grades K-9. Each day will run from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The camp will consist of daily skill development, 5-on-5 games and instruction by Idaho's coaching staff, as well as current and former Vandal players. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt and certificate. There will be many contest prizes, as well as individual awards.
The full-day rate for the youth camp is $155 if registered by June 6, after which the cost is $175. There is also a half-day rate of $120 (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.) available. Walk-ups are welcome on June 20. A special rate will be offered for University of Idaho faculty and staff. Campers should bring their own lunch, or they may purchase food in the cafeteria.
Both camps will be staffed by University of Idaho coaches, as well as current and former Vandal players. Idaho's certified athletic trainers will also monitor both events.
