LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of Idaho women's golf team
is tied for 14th after a sub-par start at the Las Vegas Collegiate
Showdown.
“We didn't finish our round very well,” said coach Lisa
Johnson, after the Vandals fired a 28-over 316. “We started well but didn't
finish.”
Kaitlyn Oster, who had a rough start but did finish strong,
was low for the Vandals with a five-over 77 to tie for 40th. Cassie
McKinley was one strong back at 78 and in a tie for 49th with
Kristin Strankman at 80 and tied for 62nd. Rachel Choi heads into
the second round tied for 70th at 81 and Leilanie Kim is tied for 76th
at 82.
Wisconsin and Indiana are tied for the team lead at
four-over 292.
