BOISE, Idaho – Idaho got out to a great start at the Border Clash, hosted by Boise State, on Friday, picking up a pair of individual win.
The Vandals had the top three performers in the men's 5000-meters, led by Drew Schultz at 15:15.05. Dwain Stucker and Skylar Ovnicek finished close behind at 15:15.91 and 15.16.90, respectively.
Sierra Speiker dominated the 5000-meter run, winning in 17:45.42. Kara Story took fourth in the event at 18:21.45.
Kolcie Bates earned sixth in the discus with a toss of 42.50 meters. She also placed seventh in the hammer with a personal-best throw of 52.50 meters. Jaun Medina placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 47.29 meters.
