Big Sky Championship Rematch

MOSCOW, Idaho—The Vandals and Bengals faceoff on the hardwood for the first time since the Big Sky Tournament championship on Saturday. Game time is set for 2 p.m. PT. The game is the team's annual International Student Day. Part of the the day's festivities include autographs from Geraldine McCorkell after the game.

Quotable: "You have to defend your home court. We do not know what it is like to be home for two games in a row. That will be a bit different for us on Saturday. We are going to have to bring it. Obviously, they [Idaho State] are a tough, physical basketball team and that is what we are expecting from them on Saturday." – Head coach Jon Newlee

About Idaho:
The Vandals evened their conference record to 2-2 on Thursday with a 95-77 win over Weber State. Idaho remains a perfect 3-0 on at home this season. Saturday is the first back-to-back home game of the season for Idaho.

About the Opponent: Idaho State fell 58-41 at Eastern Washington on Thursday. Grace Kenyon led the Bengals with 10 points in the loss. 


The Match-Up: Saturday is a rematch of the 2016 Big Sky Tournament championship. Idaho defeated Idaho State, 67-55, in Reno. Mikayla Ferenz capped off her Tournament MVP performance with 18 points, hitting 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

Love the 90s: The Vandals scored a season-high 95 points against Weber State. Last year Idaho scored 90+ points in seven games, setting a new  team record. Idaho hit the mark six times in 1984-85 season. 

Comeback: Idaho earned its largest come-from-behind win of the season against Weber State. The Vandals trailed by 13 points in the 1st quarter. Idaho erased a 14 point Oregon State lead in a losing effort this season. 

Keep away: Idaho's 193 turnovers this season rank 14th fewest in the NCAA. It's 12.9 per game are least in the Big Sky and 14th nationally. 

Charitable: Idaho is ranked 33rd in the nation with a 75.7 free throw percentage, third in the Big Sky.

Ball Control: Idaho ranks third in the Big Sky with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.11. 

RPI: Idaho's 117 RPI ranks second in the Big Sky. Montana State (87) leads the conference.

In Relief: Idaho scored a season-high 46 points off the bench against LCSC. The Vandals have scored 324 points off the bench,  averaging 21.6 points per game.

Down Low: Idaho scored a season-high 52 points in the paint against Northern Iowa The Vandals have posted 371 points in the paint, averaging 24.7 per game.
