Final Road Trip

Idaho travels to Weber State, Idaho State

10/18/2017

IDAHO NOTES | PLUTO TV

MOSCOW, Idaho –
Idaho hits the road for the final regular season road trip of the season, at Weber State and Idaho State.  Kickoff against the Wildcats (3-10-2, 2-3-2) is at 6 p.m. Pacific on Friday in Ogden, while the Vandals will kick off against the Bengals (3-12-0, 2-5-0) at noon Pacific on Sunday.

FOLLOW: Can't make it out to the game?  Fans can follow along with a FREE live stream through the PlutoTV app or through GoVandals.com/WBS.  Live stats will also be available through GoVandals.com/socstats all season long.  As always, fans can also stay in touch with Idaho Soccer through Twitter, at @VandalsSoccer.

LAST TIME OUT: Idaho dropped a pair of home matches to Montana and Portland State.  Friday's matchup with Montana was a back-and-forth battle, with neither team taking much control.  The Griz would find a way to capitalize, however, pouncing on a loose ball at the top of the box in overtime to bury the winner.

Sunday's meeting with Portland State was a much different story.  The Vikings got on the board late in the first half but Idaho responded with a goal of its own early in the second.  Portland State didn't waste much time reclaiming the lead, scoring 64 seconds after the Vandal goal.

MATCHUPS: Idaho is 5-3-1 all-time against Weber State.  Last season, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in Ogden.  The Vandals are 8-6-4 all-time against the Bengals of Idaho State.  Last year, Idaho topped Idaho State, 3-0, on senior day to close out the regular season.

BATTLE OF THE DOMES: Idaho's meeting with Idaho State on Sunday will mark the first contest in the Battle of the Domes.  The Vandals and the Bengals will be taking part in the annual Battle, sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union, starting this year, with soccer, volleyball and men's and women's basketball getting in on the action.  The winning institution, based on a point system, will take home a donation to the athletics scholarship fund.

STANDINGS: The Vandals are down but not yet out with three games to play.  Idaho currently sits in 11th in the standings, but can still earn a spot in the Big Sky Tournament with a strong close to the season.
