BIG SKY TOURNAMENT: The Vandals need a win on Friday night to have a chance of making the Big Sky Conference Tournament. After a slow start to the season, Idaho has come on strong of late, and currently sits two points outside of the top-6 and a spot in the tournament.
The Vandals need a win, plain and simple. Idaho also needs North Dakota to not win (a tie or a loss to Northern Colorado at home) and Sacramento State-Northern Arizona to not end in a tie. Should all three scenarios play out, Idaho would take the 6
th seed heading into the Big Sky Tournament in Cheney.
LAST TIME OUT: Idaho picked up a pair of wins on the road in come-from-behind fashion. The Vandals trailed Weber State, 2-0, early on Friday night but fought back to cut the deficit to just one at the break. Idaho continued to battle in the second, with
Bridget Daley tying the game with her second of the night in the 57
th minute. The Vandals were dominant the rest of the way defensively, and netted the game-winner on an excellent counterattack in the 86
th minute, with Daley finishing off her hat trick.
Things didn't get easier on Sunday at Idaho State, as Idaho found itself down 1-0 at the half.
Kelly Dopke leveled the score on a beautiful free kick early in the second half, and Baggerly finished the job on a counterattack to give Idaho the win.
MATCHUPS: Idaho is 11-11-1 all-time against EWU. Since joining the Big Sky ahead of the 2014 season, the squads are 1-1-1 in Big Sky regular season games. Last year, EWU ended Idaho's season in the Big Sky Tournament semifinals, 1-0, in Cheney.
LIV: Baggerly will leave Moscow as one of Idaho's top players of all time. The Canby, Ore., native currently sits in the top-5 in every major statistical category, including assists (4
th), shots (4
th), goals (5
th), points (5
th) and game-winning goals (tied for 5
th). Baggerly's class of one also ranks highly in program history in results, as the second winningest class in program history with 35 wins.
