MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is thrilled to announce the signing of Oregon State Champion sprinter, Lauren Paven, who hails from Tigard High School. She has consistently been one of the top sprinters in the state of Oregon since her freshman year, competing in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and relays.
Paven won the state championship in the 400m as a sophomore, running a time of 56.24, she also finished third in the 200m at that meet running 25.08. She finished second at the state championships in the 400m as freshman and a junior. Paven has also qualified for the state championships in the 100m. She has personal bests of 55.66 in the 400m, 25.06 in the 200m, 12.32 in the 100m, and 2:17.35 in the 800m.
Paven is just as talented in the classroom and plans to major in exercise science on a pre-physical therapy track. She has been awarded most improved academically in her class. Lauren has also spent a vast amount of time volunteering for her local youth track program.
