ABILENE, Texas—The Vandal women's basketball team continues its season-opening road trip on Saturday. Idaho will take on Abilene Christian in the third of this five-game stretch.

THE GAME: Idaho will play its third straight road contest at ACU on Saturday. It will be the second all-time meeting between the Vandals and Wildcats.

Taylor Pierce make up the core of the Vandal lineup. The Vandals won their first postseason game in 31 years last year, advancing to the semifinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational. The team has five new faces this season, including four freshmen.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS: ACU has posted 90+ points in both of its opening contests. The Wildcats opened with a 91-47 win over Southwest and then defeated Schreiner 97-48. ACU is one of the youngest teams in DI with 75 percent of its roster made up of freshmen and sophomores.
LAST TIME: The Vandals were unable to overcome a 0-for-9 shooting slump in the first quarter at Ohio State, seeing the Buckeyes score 18 unanswered points to distance themselves from the Vandals early on.
Scouting the Wildcats
• ACU went 23-9 last season, winning its second Southland Conference regular-season title
• Defeated Oklahoma State, 66-56, in the WNIT for its first DI postseason win
• Three players averaging better than 10 points per game
• ACU has shot 43.5 percent combined in its two prior games
• Sarah Williamson scored 23 pts against Schreiner to record the top-scoring mark for ACU this season
