Idaho will play CSUN and either Arizona or TCU

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—Idaho women's basketball is set to close out its season-opening five-game road swing at the Warner Center Marriott Thanksgiving Basketball Classic. The Vandals will play a pair of games, opening the tournament with host CSUN on Friday (7:30 p.m. PT).

The Game: Idaho will play its fourth straight road contest at CSUN on Friday. It will be the 14th all-time meeting between the Vandals and Matadors.

About The Vandals: Idaho returns its three top-producers from a year ago. Mikayla Ferenz, Geraldine McCorkell and Taylor Pierce make up the core of the Vandal lineup. The Vandals won their first postseason game in 31 years last year, advancing to the semifinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational. The team has five new faces this season, including four freshmen.

About the Matadors: CSUN is off to an 0-4 start to the season. The Matadors participated in the Preseason WNIT, opening the schedule with 91-43 loss to No. 11 Oregon. They lost a narrow contest to New Orleans before closing the tournament with a loss to Milwaukee. CSUN also played to a three-point loss at San Diego State.   

Last Time: Idaho shot 61.5 percent from the free-throw line and turned the ball over 20 times in its 82-27 loss at Abilene Christian. Mikayla Ferenz scored a season-high 27 points before fouling out. Geraldine McCorkell added 24 in the losing effort.

Warner Center Marriott Thanksgiving Classic: Idaho is set for two games in Northridge. The Vandals will play either Arizona or Texas Christian on Saturday.

• Channon Fluker was voted Preseason All-Conference
• 24th in the NCAA with 22 blocked shots this season
• Lead the Big West with 44.0 rebounds per game
• Fluker ranks first in the Big West with 40 rebounds, 10 blocks, 2.50 blocks per game
