MOSCOW, Idaho—Idaho women's basketball opens its home schedule, hosting the University of Washington on Friday. It is the first of 13 home games for the Vandals this season.

The Game: The Vandals open the home season on Friday after playing their first five games on the road. Washington becomes the first Power 5 school to visit Moscow since its last visit on Nov. 30, 2011.
About The Vandals: Idaho opened the season with a road-win at four-time Mountain West champion Colorado State. The Vandals have been led by its core of
Mikayla Ferenz,
Geri McCorkell and
Taylor Pierce. The group has scored 75.5 percent of Idaho's points this season (277 combined).Â
About the Huskies: Washington is off to a 2-3 start to the season with wins over BYU and Creighton. The Huskies lost four starters from their 2017 NCAA Tournament team, most notably Kelsey Plum, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer.Â
Last time: Idaho had its first-quarter lead slip away in the championship game of the Warner Center Marriott Thanksgiving Classic. Idaho was up 11 against TCU and lost 86-76. McCorkell recorded a double-double in the loss, totaling 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Commonalities: Idaho and Washington both have played Ohio State this season. The Vandals fell in Columbus on Nov. 15. Washington visited Ohio State on Nov. 19, falling 85-76. Washington has played one other Big Sky school this season. The Huskies lost their season opener to Idaho State, 79-59, in Washington.
