BOISE, Idaho –
The non-conference schedule comes to a close on Thursday night in Boise, with Idaho taking on UC Irvine at 6:30 p.m. Pacific in the Vandal Holiday Hoops Classic presented by Delta Dental.

Chris King will bring you the action all season long on the Vandal Radio Network, starting approximately 30 minutes before tipoff every night.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Idaho thrashed Western Michigan, 82-52.  The Vandal defense was stellar, holding WMU to just 16 points in the first half and keeping one of the MAC's best players, Thomas Wilder, scoreless in opening frame.  Brayon Blake got it going offensively, hitting all five of his 3-point attempts to tie the program record for makes without a miss.  Jordan Scott was effective all over the court, finishing with his first career double-double with 10 points and 13 assists.
 
NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS: Idaho currently sits at 8-3 on the season in non-conference play.  In Don Verlin's now 10 seasons with Idaho, the eight early-season wins are tied for the most.  The Vandals had eight early-season wins during the 2015-16 season, Idaho's best season (by wins and losses) since the early 1990's.
 
THE 3-BALL: Idaho currently ranks ninth in the country in 3-point defense, holding opponents to 27.8 percent from beyond the arc.  Idaho ranks 10th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage, connecting on 42.4 percent of its attempts.  The Vandals are the only team in the country to rank in the top-10 in both categories.
 
BUCK NIGHT COMING UP: Idaho won't be back in Moscow until January 4, when Sacramento State comes to town for the Big Sky home opener.  The Vandals want a packed house that Thursday night to celebrate the start of conference play and will be offering $1 hot dogs, soft drinks and popcorns all game long.  Ticket deals are also in full effect, with High School Night-prices of just $2 for general admission.
