RENO, Nev. – The postseason is finally here as Idaho takes on Montana at 2:35 p.m. on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Big Sky Conference Tournament.

LAST TIME OUT: No. 4 Idaho (17-12, 12-6 BSC) has been on a roll of late, rattling of four straight wins, the longest streak in the conference. Last time out, Idaho topped Southern Utah on the road, 84-75, to finish in a tie for third in the Big Sky standings. Due to tiebreakers, the Vandals will serve as the No. 4 seed in Reno.
No. 5 Montana has also been playing well of late. The Grizzlies squeaked out a win at No. 3 Weber State on Thursday night and then thrashed Idaho State on Saturday. The Grizzlies also finished in a tie, with in-state rival Montana State, but earned the No. 5 seed on tiebreakers.
LAST MEETING: Idaho and Montana split the regular season series, with the road team winning each game. Last time, Idaho won in Missoula, 85-77, in overtime.
Victor Sanders went for 28, while
Arkadiy Mkrtychyan had a then Division I career-best with 17 points.
Nate Sherwood added 15.
Montana got the better of Idaho in the first meeting, the second game of the Big Sky season, 70-57. The Vandals were still experimenting with lineups at the time, and had not officially switched Sanders to the point yet.
BIG SKY TOURNAMENT: Things are already heating up in Reno after just three games have been played. No. 6 Montana State, the highest-seeded team to play on opening day, fell in triple overtime to No. 11 Southern Utah on Tuesday. Action continues throughout the week, with the intensity sure to pick up as the tournament progresses.
