Box Score EUGENE, Ore.—Idaho men's tennis opened the spring season on Friday with at the Pac-12's Oregon Ducks. The Vandals were unable to get on the board in the opener, falling 7-0.
Mark Kovacs and
Carlos Longhi Neto provided a bright spot for the Vandals in the loss. The pair picked up Idaho's only win of the day early on in doubles. The top duo for the Vandals defeated the No. 17 pair in the country, Cormac Clissold and Thomas Laurent, 6-3. The win even the doubles point at a match apiece. The Ducks picked up the opening point with a 7-5 win on the No. 2 court.
Oregon picked up wins on all six singles courts. The Vandals were unable to get a set win on the day. Kovacs and
Guilherme Scarpelli came within points of forcing a third set in their singles matches. Both players fell 6-4 in their second sets.
The Vandals will have some time off before their next match. Next up for Idaho is a Feb. 6 meeting with Gonzaga.
