MOSCOW, Idaho—Senior
Kaela Straw reached career milestone recording over 1,000 career kills on Saturday night as the Vandals cruised past Portland State in three sets (25-18; 25-16; 25-17) at Memorial Gym. The Vandals moved to 10-8 (4-2 Big Sky), while the Vikings dropped to 2-16 (1-5 Big Sky).
First Set Summary
Already leading the Vikings 8-4, Straw, on her first try, posted her 1,000th career kill in the win. Idaho went on a to take the first set, 25-18

Second Set Summary
Set two was much of the same as the Vandals proved to be more efficient tallying a .333 hitting percentage, compared to Portland State's .100 clip. The Vandals took set 2 with a score of 25-16.
Third Set Summary
The third and final set was all Idaho, yet again. The Vikings defense couldn't find a remedy for the Vandals offense. The score was tied a couple of times in the set, but Idaho soon found their groove after two Viking errors and a kill from
Sarah Sharp, 9-6. Portland State would battle back, but the Vandals would pull ahead for match point, ending the game 25-17.
