MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho soccer (6-6-2, 3-1-1) got back to its winning ways on Sunday, defeating local rival Eastern Washington (5-6-3, 1-3-1), 1-0, behind a goal from
Kelly Dopke on Pink Night.
Kayleigh Frederick lined up the free kick from midfield and sent in a great ball to the EWU 6. The keeper came out, but Dopke rose up and was able to get just enough of a deflection to change its course and find the back of the net.
Makayla Presgrave had a strong day in goal, making seven saves for her fifth shutout of the season. She has played incredibly well at home this year, as the Vandals have now gone five games without conceding a goal from the run of play in 2018.
The Vandals close out the home portion of the schedule this weekend, with Idaho State and Weber State coming to town.
